ASG President Dave Van Hoy Inducted into the 2026 SCN Hall of Fame

Advanced Systems Group (ASG) is proud to share that company president Dave Van Hoy has been inducted into the 2026 Systems Contractor News (SCN) Hall of Fame — an honor recognizing nearly five decades of leadership and craft across live production and the Pro AV industry.

The SCN Hall of Fame celebrates individuals whose work has shaped the systems integration and Pro AV community. For Van Hoy, the recognition caps a career that began behind a live recording rig as a teenager and grew into the leadership of one of the largest media technology and services firms in the United States.

A career built on live production

Long before ASG, Van Hoy’s path started at home. His father, an electronics research engineer at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego, brought him along on live recording jobs in the evenings and on weekends — capturing choirs, orchestras, and jazz ensembles — when Van Hoy was barely a teenager.

That early apprenticeship became a profession. Van Hoy worked as an audio engineer before moving into live television and live TV production, a high-pressure world that he credits for the composure colleagues still recognize in him today. Solving problems under deadline — with thousands of people waiting — teaches a particular kind of calm.

It’s a mindset he carried into the business he would go on to build.

From DVD authoring to one of the nation’s largest Pro AV firms

ASG was founded in 1997 to serve the emerging DVD authoring market. Within a few years it had grown into a full-service production and post-production systems integrator, and today it stands among the country’s largest integrators and resellers — serving broadcasters, corporate media teams, houses of worship, sports, and media and entertainment organizations across North America and, since 2024, the United Kingdom.

Under Van Hoy’s leadership, ASG has expanded into a comprehensive suite of services spanning consulting, engineering, systems integration, cloud production, training, support, and managed services across the full media supply chain. Some of the world’s most recognized media, sports, and technology brands rely on ASG to design, build, and operate the systems behind their content.

Investing in the next generation
