Job Summary

The Associate Director supports live broadcasts by managing communications with remote vMix Technical/Control Room Directors, assisting in technical production using both manual and automated processes, and ensuring optimal performance through tests and rehearsals.

Essential Functions:

• Keep time and communications with remote vMix Technical/Control Room Directors during High Velocity Events.

• Support the Technical/Control Room Director.

• Attend morning meetings to understand the program needs for the day.

• Escalate any technical issues to the Technical/Control Room Director.

• Technically produce broadcasts using a range of manual and automated processes.

• Support the performance tests and rehearsals to ensure optimal performance of equipment and minimize on-air errors.

• Engage with the production team to improve the quality of all shows.

• Support for broadcast and digital platforms.

Required Education and Experience:

• Associate’s Degree in Broadcasting, Media Production or related field is preferred.

• 2-4 years of experience in broadcasting live events

• Understanding of robotic camera control system operation and control room production.

• Knowledge of control room switchers required; experience with Grass Valley gear is a plus

• Experience with server playback and ingest operations
